Heading Home From The Rockies
August 19, Saturday: Cody, WY
We left Cody and northeast up into Montana, across South Dakota and into Minnesota.
In Minneapolis we had a wonderful visit with Carl and Norma. We traveled northeast through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and Canada, stopping for a day at Niagara Falls. After spending time in Elmira with Jack’s friends and family, we stopped in New Jersey to visit Cathy’s friends and family. We made one last stop to see Alicia, Sean and Brynn before arriving home on September seventh.
We put just over 7,000 miles on the RV and another few thousand on the car.
Reflections on our Trip
The views from atop Pikes Peak inspired Kathleen Lee Bates to write the words for the song, “America the Beautiful”. We have been so fortunate to be able to view the purple mountain majesties, spacious skies and amber fields of grain and we hope you all get an opportunity to spend time driving and exploring this big beautiful country.
