The weather cleared just enough so we could see the glaciers and mountain tops that surround Skagway.
The train took about 3 ½ hours and then we checked out all the shops in Skagway – there are tons of them as they get 28 cruise ships a week during the season.
There were five in port when we there. Unfortunately, we saw nothing special in the shops except an expensive soapstone bear sculpture that we couldn’t figure out where to put in the house, so we left it in the shop. Charming little town with boardwalk sidewalks and false front buildings like the old West.
